Seat: Mogadishu, Federal Republic of Somalia. Working languages: Somali and English. The Constitution (2026 Founding Edition) is awaiting adoption; no programme is currently open for enrolment.
Leadership
Six organs separate governance, management, academic authority and independent ethical review.
Seven founding members who collectively appoint the Founder-Directors; no interest in the Academy’s assets or income.
Supreme governing authority: seven Founder-Directors and three Independent Directors; approves strategy, budget and Bylaws.
Supreme academic authority: curricula, assessment and standards, with External Examiners for every award-bearing cohort.
Independent ethical review of all research; chaired by a member who is neither a Founder, Director nor employee.
Chief executive and accounting officer, appointed by the Board on merit.
Management body: Academic Affairs, Research, Finance and Administration, Digital Systems.
Constitution, Parts III–V
The Audit Committee chair, the Research and Ethics Committee chair, the External Examiners and the external auditor are independent of the Founders. Names of office-holders will be published once the Constitution is adopted.
